REACH YOUR GOALS WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY

WHAT IS PHYSICAL THERAPY?

Physical therapy reduces the need for surgery and prescription drugs. Physical therapists are experts in improving mobility and motion. They work with their patients to design treatment plans for their individual goals, challenges and needs.

WHY CHOOSE WASATCH?

At Wasatch Therapy, we want to get you back to doing the things you love. We have a team of physical therapists dedicated to the idea of getting you "Back to Life". ORTHOPEDIC CONDITIONS

Orthopedic physical therapy is the care of individuals of all ages with disorders or dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic physical therapists are skilled in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.

Low back/neck pain, shoulder injuries, osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, muscle strains, knee and ankle injuries, chronic pain, tennis/golfers elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and post-operative orthopedic conditions are often treated by an orthopedic physical therapist.

SPINE CARE

The therapists at Wasatch Physical Therapy have all received training through a variety of accredited physical therapy curriculum's that focus on the spine, such as: The North American Institute for Orthopedic Manual Therapy, International Spine and Pain Institute, the McKenzie Institute, and many others. We provide a variety of treatment options to help you stop your back pain in its tracks!

3

CONCUSSION THERAPY

Physical therapists can evaluate and treat many problems related to concussion. No two concussions are the same, so your physical therapists examination will assess your individual symptoms so that they can design a safe and individualized treatment plan just for you. This may include: Rest and recovery, restoring strength and endurance, stopping dizziness, improving balance, and reducing headaches.

4

PELVIC HEALTH

Physical therapists trained specifically in the area of pelvic health can identify the possible generators of pelvic pain and incontinence. Treatments may include biofeedback, retraining of un-coordinated muscles, postural training, and strengthening of the abdominal core muscles. We offer female and male pelvic floor physical therapy.

5

LYMPHEDEMA TREATMENT

It is the job of physical therapists to help you regain function and movement due to effects of various conditions, and lymphedema is no exception! Initial management is often quite intense. Patients will work closely with their therapist in developing a treatment plan that will best address swelling and other needs. Treatment is often comprised of manual lymphatic drainage (feels like a light form of a massage) followed by compression bandaging.

6

DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is a skilled technique performed by a physical therapist with advanced training to help release muscle tension and pain. It is NOT the same as acupuncture despite using the same tool (a thin filiform needle). Instead of the therapist using his/her hands to work on dysfunctional structures, a needle is used to help "reset" the tissue to its more normal state so it can be properly retrained with exercise.

7

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

This treatment uses shockwave technology to stimulate the body’s healing response. It increases blood supply, promotes blood vessel growth, modulates inflammation, and reduces the time it takes to recover from injury or disease. Utilizing shockwave in your therapy can also reduce chronic/acute pain, repair and regenerate tissue and get you Back to Life!
